1. The Links You Clean Stay On Your Device
Link cleaning happens entirely in your browser using JavaScript. The URLs you paste are never sent to our servers, never logged, and never stored. We do not ask for or hold accounts, email addresses, or any other information you would have to give us.
2. Analytics and Cookies
We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use the site, which pages get read, and where the layout confuses people. Clarity records page interactions such as clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, and collects your IP address, approximate location, browser and device type. Microsoft processes this data on its own infrastructure, including in the United States, under the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Clarity does not run until you agree to it. If you are visiting from the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you will be asked first, and nothing analytics-related loads unless you press Accept. Declining is a single click in the same place, and we will not ask again for six months. Outside those regions, Clarity loads by default; you can still turn it off at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page.
When you accept, Clarity sets the cookies _clck (expires after one year) and
_clsk (expires after one day), along with related Microsoft cookies. Choosing
Cookie settings and then Decline deletes these cookies and stops Clarity from
loading again.
Our legal basis for this is your consent, under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive. You
can withdraw it at any time, as easily as you gave it, and withdrawal does not affect anything that
happened before. We record your choice in your browser's localStorage under
lc_consent so we do not have to keep asking; this is strictly necessary for honouring
your preference and is not used for anything else.
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell or share your data with advertisers.
2a. Affiliate Links
Some pages contain affiliate links to products such as NordVPN and NordPass. The banner images are served from our own domain, so simply viewing a page does not contact the advertiser. If you click an affiliate link, the destination site may set its own cookies and we may earn a commission. That happens under the destination site's privacy policy, not ours.

To ensure a secure browsing experience, we use:

Link Cleaner Online ("the Extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. In addition to the general policies above, the following applies specifically to our browser extension:
- No Data Collection: The Extension does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information, browsing history, or user data.
- Local Processing: All URL cleaning and link processing are performed entirely on your local machine. No data is sent to any external servers or third parties.

localStorageto save your preferred theme (light/dark mode) and language selection. This data stays on your device and is not shared. - Permissions: The clipboardWrite permission is used only to allow you to copy the cleaned links to your clipboard.
